Relatively new to single origin coffees and had planned to sample several before settling on a subscription. Besides, this particular shipment — my first — was exquisite Sumatra Mandheling Reserve Dark Roast but ground. And I had to put it in a Bialetti glass coffee jar that was a big mistake because it does not vacuum seal for oxygen and CO2. I feared it would not be long before my first single origin got stale. But……IT DIDNT. Heavenly from first cup to last. And I like Volcanica….very quick delivery and excellent packaging for some of the best coffees in the world. I love this Sumatra Mandheling Reserve Dark Roast. I am a bit of a heretic and brew it in a DeLonghi Alicia electric moka pot so it always comes out with consistent quality. I use a big doublewalled glass cup and then add a third of the cup in foamed half and half. This coffee in dark roast stands up to that to produce an espresso-latte like brew with waves of taste from “hey, pay attention!” to cocoa overtones to something else as it slides past the roof of my mouth to a lingering aftertaste that says I should have some more. I cannot imagine a better coffee for my particular tastes or a better coffee distributer. Next I order my first while brand to grind pot by pot. Can hardly wait. Yes, it is expensive but this is as good as coffee can get.UPDATE….Now 3 months later, I have become a dedicated subscriber to Volcanica Sumatra Mendheling Reserve dark roast whole bean. I did flirt with a Java Planet Costa Rico dark roast (excellent) and a Volcanica Sulawesi dark roast (ok) and did Atlas samples from Niquarua, Guatamala and India (mediocre) but my absolute favored coffee remains this Sumatra Mendheling Reserve dark roast. I still have never had a bad cup. In part i owe that to my DeLonghi Alexia electric moka pot, which adds to the consistency from pot to pot. And in my vacuumed ceramic container it stays fresh the entire 3 weeks I have it for grinding 2-3x day. Amazon free shipping is seductive and they don’t let it sit around in their warehouses long but the shipping cost direct from Volcanica will mean my coffee ships the day it is roasted. Not sure that experiment absorbing direct shipping will justify leaving Amazon delivery since i hear freshly roasted coffee should snooze a week before being used. We’ll see.The taste is quite unique. Very strong and bold beginning with chocolate tones and then an adventure as it glides down my mouth with a caramel and something invitation to an unidentifiable aftertaste, which some people describe as tobacco or any number of other oddities. Whatever that aftertaste is it prepares me to want the next sip. I never feel the aftertaste is grassy or thin. And with all that, low cafeine and acid for a happy tummy without jitters. One minor flaw…I find a little coffee soot in the bottom of my brewed cup and am reluctant to go to a more medium grond but that is a minor problem in an overwhelmingly good experience.I keep on windowhopping but don’t feel I can dare to get any coffee but this from anyplace but Volcanica. Tastes vary and some people really don’t like dark roast and want more floral tastes but this is my favorite.Really also like that that it is Fair Trade and Rainforest Protective, high volcanic ground and wet washed. I get the sense that Volcanica has better relations with Indonesian estates than many other good coffee distributors.I urge everyone to try this coffee.

BEST BLUE MOUNTAIN PEABERRY, PERIOD!The Wallenford Peaberry is by far the best coffee on the planet! We’ve had more than a half a dozen brands of Jamaican Blue Mountain four from Amazon and several others elsewhere and though the peaberry is expensive, if you can afford it and like Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, get it, you won’t regret it. if you can get it, and they have it, get the Wallenford, it is most delicious, smootest and delicious, did I mention it’s delicious/ IT IS! Oh, and like most JBM, it will wake up fater and better than any other coffee too. Note, Clifton Mount Estate is good, even great, and the blue velvet bag and clydesdale are exceptional, but if you can, get the wallenford estate peaberry. Also, Volcanica is the BEST when it comes to customer service. We had an issue with one bag and they made it right, they truly cared about us, the customer, and went above and beyond to resolve it! We WILL be buying more volcanica! THANK YOU Maurice and others from Volcanica, we greatly appreciate you keeping in touch in messages!WE highly recommend Volcanicas Bue Mountain coffees, they are truly the best!

It is not fair to the coffee or company for my error in purchasing a very light roast coffee. My regular Costa Rican coffee was out of stock and I decided to try something new – different. My preference is for a darker medium to dark roast coffee. The coffee beans have what I imagine is a nice taste and is definitely freshly roasted. I suspect that if you prefer very light to light roast coffees this one might be for you. Yet, if you prefer a darker roast to very dark roast coffees you might look elsewhere at a different roast.

While reading the book “The Never Game” the author Jeffery Deaver described the main character Colter Shaw as a coffee connoisseur who only likes coffee from El Salvador. Most likely Jeffery Deaver likes this coffee as well. So, after finishing the book, I searched Amazon, found the Volcanic coffee from El Salvador, ordered, and upon arrival immediately made a cup of coffee. The aromas are wonderful and the taste is amazingly smooth on the tongue which most likely is the reason Colter Shaw buys this type of coffee. It’s one of the best coffees we’ve ever tasted. We’d buy it again and again.

Hard to tell what the flavor is supposed to be, if I didn’t know it beforehand. I tried a different brand of pumpkin spice beans last year from a local supermarket – same thing.Volcania was the 2nd best rated pumpkin spice flavor with a Google search. Not impressed, will not buy again. What *is* really good is the International Delight pumpkin spice coffee creamer – very good strong flavor that tastes like you would expect. But it was hard to find last fall – although Wally’s had it. I haven’t looked yet this year.EDIT, Sept. 12: Having nearly finished the bag, I will give it another star. I’m making it as strong as my coffee maker can handle and it’s not too bad, although I still prefer the pumpkin spice creamer mentioned above — which I still cannot find locally, so far anyway.

We have drank exclusively Doka Estates Costa Rican Peaberry coffee for over 20 years. For whatever reason we cannot find it anywhere on the Internet anymore so we bought this hoping it would be close. We have a very pleasant surprise it is every bit as good! If you were a Doka drinker and can’t find it , try some!

I bought this for my girlfriend and tasted it; it is definitely a step above almost any other coffee brands, but for me, the taste difference does not justify the price. I would but it again if the price was about half of what I paid. It is an excellent coffee, for sure.

The Panama coffee was shipped fresh from Volcanica in Georgia. Sweet, slightly fruity with a delicate crisp bitter edge on first sip. Tried as espresso, flat white and in moka pot. Really nice as flat white and in moka. Easy to grind by hand. I’ll get this again. Fast delivery and delicious coffee.

The most incredible flavour and aroma. There are things in life that change everything once you experience them. Driving a sports car. Flying an aircraft. Smoking an expensive cigar. You get the idea.Or trying Kona Extra Fancy.First you just inhale the aroma from the package. Wonderful. Then you decide to clean your espresso machine first, because you want to have the full experience. You fill it with the beans. The whole room already smells like something fancy. And then you press the button – double long espresso. Very solid, caramel colored foam. The aroma is everywhere. And then you taste it.Super smooth, medium strong, slightly sour and sweet at the end. And then it leaves a never-ending mild bitter taste on your tongue – like an unsweetened dark chocolate.I personally favor latte with a single shot of espresso from these beans. Nothing but smoothness and flavor.Once you try this, no other coffee matters. This is it. Steve McQueen once said: “Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.”Kona is a coffee. Everything else is just waiting for the next Kona.

Great tasting coffeeI bought a bean to coffee machine 6 months ago and I’ve been on the pursuit to find the perfect coffee bean & after multiple purchases I found it with this. The taste is strong & smooth & similar to the barista style in high street coffee shops. More expensive than most but worth it and as the saying old saying goes you get what you pay for. Buy it you won’t be disappointed.

“Whole Bean” was true, forget the rest. The only diffrence with the cheapest supermarket coffee is it costs 10 time more. I am used to and love Nicaraguan coffee, but not this one. The seller can call this whatever they want but it’s not what you expect at this price. I tried it, and was profoundly disappointed with the taste and aroma. I don’t believe that the coffee I received was what it is claimed to be.
