Most of us usually say “good for decaf”. Decaf is just different to me without comparing. I like to mix it with regular based on what the agenda is for the day. This coffee blends very well with my other coffee. A little metallic taste by itself…to me. I’d still recommend it though!

Exactly what’s needed for those who have to cut back on caffeine. Still full body flavor. Looks and smells great. I’m sure I could make expresso with this if I had the machine.

Great tasting decaf! Highly recommended

Missing the kind of complexity I expect from coffee this pricey but then again it’s also half caff. Such is the sad life of a coffee lover whose body started reacting to caffeine in unholy ways. 😭

The bag I received smelled fresh and makes a pleasant shot of espresso. Smooth, not bitter, low acidity. It’s sort of meh next to regular coffee, but that’s decaf coffee in general. This doesn’t have a ton of depth, but next to other decaf blends, it’s pretty good (doesn’t taste watered down).

I am usable to drink caffeinated coffee and finding one that had a good flavor is hard. This coffee is the best decaf I have ever tasted; its rich and robust and not overly bitter. My only issue with it is the packaging. It has this weird pull-tab that leaves a small opening in the bag; you can’t pour the beans from it, and a trying to get it out with a spoon is very cumbersome. Why, oh why, do companies feel they have to try something else when the original idea was not a problem. Volcano, please put your coffee in a standard bag and help this old lady out.

Ever since discovering there are amazing specialty decaf coffees out there, I’ve gotten really into coffee, since I can’t do caffeine. I’m still a newbie, but I have tasted several really great bags of coffee and this one is hands down the worst flavor. The first bag I am comparing it to is about $20/lb decaf from some small roastery on the east coast. That one was way better than this stuff, more delicate flavors and fuller body.My next bag was a $50/ lb Kona decaf. So yeah obviously it will taste better but seriously it’s like 100x better not just 2x better even though it’s 2x the price.I’d give the Kona a 10, the east coast roastery one an 8, and this a 2.I don’t know if it’s cuz I chose the “low acid” Volcanica that there was just something weird here but the coffee tasted flat, burnt, and just harsh no matter how I brewed it.Another big difference I noticed is during the bloom phase, both my other bags were blooming like crazy with lots of bubbles and this one barely sputtered. I checked the roast date and it was supposedly a month prior… I was surprised because it sure wasn’t behaving like fresh roasted coffee.I’m still open to trying one more variety from Volcanica before writing it off but definitely never getting the low acid again.Edit: I tried the Sumatra and it is MUCH better… so there’s something weird about the low acid one I think… cuz I even tend to like darker roasts and more earthy vs “bright” cups of coffee so it’s not like I’m into high acid flavors… but the low acid variety of this brand just tasted gross and harsh.

We did not like the taste of the coffee. Too bitter and not mellow or rich
