This decaf coffee seems similar to some teas while still providing the coffee- bean flavor satisfaction. While I prefer the caffeinated version of this product, there are occasions when this one is best. It tastes better for me with the addition of alternative milk and date palm sugar. This is more like coffee should taste than other ‘blonde’ styles which tout lower acidity (than coffee with caffeine). The processing technique for Kicking Horse is very effective in producing a mellow cup o’Joe– a must try for the coffee afficionado

I was at first underwhelmed because I was expecting the assault on my tastebuds provided by Starbuck’s caffeinated Italian Roast…a sensory jump start that I liked until I had to give up caffeine for a few months. But after a day or two, Kicking Horse reset my expectations for what strong, dark coffee can taste like.Kicking Horse’s flavor isn’t front-loaded the way other good dark coffees are. Its taste is rich and long-lasting. There’s no aftertaste except for the taste of the coffee: it doesn’t leave my mouth sour the way many other coffees do.Of course, people’s preferences vary. But the fact that it’s produced via the Swiss water process should be a point in its favor for everyone.

I’m in it for the taste, but I wouldn’t have known that without the excellent, deep, rich flavor of these Kicking Horse coffee beans. I didn’t think I could ever decaffeinate, but like many here, it started getting to my nervous system. Now, I enjoy espresso and latte like I never have before: no jitters, no heart bumps, and way, way less acid on the stomach. All flavor, and no side-effects. It’s like I never really tasted the beans themselves until now. Can’t say enough about this product. We use an Amish hand-crank burr grinder and a relatively inexpensive 20-bar espresso machine, and no coffee shops anymore – the whole set-up has already paid for itself in under a month. Go ahead and decaffeinate. You won’t regret it as long as these Kicking Horse beans are around. Good product, folks. Well done. You’ve liberated us from everything “bad” about coffee and left nothing but the good.

These decaf coffee beans make a good cup of coffee. I’d say above average overall. Not the best, but better than many others and more expensive.

I’ve been looking for a good decaf dark roast coffee. I’ve tried many brands and this Kicking Horse whole bean is one of the best so far.

I was pleasantly surprised that this decaf coffee could taste so good and I’ve tried many. but Kicking horse decaf is by far the best tasting coffee. NO bitter aftertaste!!

I adore coffee, but the caffeine is finally getting to me. I have been horrified at even the existence of decaf for all of my coffee-drinking life (what is the purpose?), but now I know. I still love coffee, but it doesn’t love me. And – I love a dark roast. After a lot of wasted money (there are a couple I can handle with enough creamer), I found Kicking Horse. I’m in love. Finally a decaf I can drink black without gagging! Love it!

it’s dark and so satisfying. No bland taste

WOWFirst of all i didn’t expect this to be as good as Kicking Horse 454. Second i always found any decaf coffee to taste hollow, like the heart of it was ripped out so to speak. I am very impressed with this whole bean decaf and i never thought i would look forward to a cup of decaf coffee but the day finally arrived. I still don’t like this as much as 454 but it’s the best option when you want to kick the caffeine habit. Out of 10 on the decaf scale i give this a 10 because it’s the best decaf i have had so far.
